Daily Devotional: Beauty in the Hallways
Hi friends!
First of all, THANK YOU! Thank you to everyone who subscribed to get emails when I post updates, has shown my blog/Instagram love, and who has encouraged me in this new adventure! I feel so blessed that God has given me this opportunity, even if I’m not 110% sure what His plan is for it. All I know is that I’m excited and ready to follow His lead!!
Last night I was sitting in the hallway after putting the girls to bed (that’s our 2 year old’s agreement is that she’ll fall asleep by herself as long as I stay in the hallway…she can’t see me but she trusts that I’m there, plus it gives me time to do all of this!😌) and I couldn’t help but notice how the sun was shining right onto my Bible and notebook. The beauty of it really stood out to me and I thought about all of the times that I’ve missed God showing me “the beauty in the hallways”. Let me explain. Have you even gone through waiting seasons in your life? Times when you feel like you’re not sure what is going to happen next whether it be with a job, love, house, life in general, etc? I call that the “hallway”, the in between of where we were and where God is taking us. Often times we get so impatient in the hallways because we want to just get to the next thing. But what if next time we feel like we’re in the waiting, we look around to see the beauty in that waiting season? Like the sun shining into the hallway last night, it reminded me that there’s always beauty in the hallways, we just have to be willing to look for it and admire it.
Encouraging Scripture:
“Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart be courageous. Wait for the LORD.” Psalm 27:14
“Rest in God alone, my soul, for my hope comes from him.” Psalm 62:5
Praying for each of you today, and that you can always find the beauty in the hallways. 🖤Sydney
